In
addition to its Custom Log Home Design Services, Alta
Log Homes works with its clients to take advantage of
emerging alternative energy solutions.
1. Begin the process by
specifying a standard log home package or begin custom
designing your Special Alta Log Home.
2. If you would like to
custom design your special Alta Log Homes, place a design
deposit with your Alta Log Homes Dealer or
Representative to create the home of your dreams. Or, we
can work with the Architect or Builder of your choice.
3. Once a standard plan or
custom plans are drawn to your satisfaction and signed
by you.
A small deposit will be retained to
computer model Energy Star certification requirements
for your home. If you like, Alta will also computer
model solar panel applications for utility grid
connection.
*Modeling services are performed by
third party Energy Star Raters and approved PV
Contractors.
4. After reviewing the
results of these reports you can choose to include these
alternative energy saving methods in your Alta Log Home.
Once your home is inspected and passes an Energy Star
field test. Your deposit for modeling services will be
fully credited back and returned to you. For solar
programs, your deposit will be totally refunded once
your solar panels are installed.
If you choose not to include these
programs in your home, your deposit for these additional
services will not be refunded.
5. Virtually all of the
paperwork for these programs is handled by Alta, NYSERDA
and your local utility company with approved HERS raters
and PV contractors for construction in New York State.
If you will be building your Alta
Log Home outside of New York State, Alta may be able to
assist you in finding and using similar programs in your
State.
