Standard
Most every log home company says
they have a quality control program. At Alta Log Homes, we're fanatics
about quality.
Our quality program is unsurpassed
in the industry. We use Eastern White Pine.
(*Western Red Cedar
also available). Which has superior insulation value and resists
shrinkage and checking. Each log is finely machined for
smoothness, and notches are precisely cut for a tight, correct
fit. Our quality control staff, under the leadership of a
full-time Quality Control Supervisor, rejects any component that
doesn't meet our very rigid standards.
Alta Log Homes has been at the
forefront of the effort to establish an industry-wide log grading
system to assure uniform quality. Alta's own log grading system
has long been a model for other quality-conscious companies.
Logs, however, are only one
component of the complete Alta Log home System. Each element -
from windows to laminated ridge beams - is carefully specified by
our demandin g engineers and designers to provide the same superior
quality and durability as the rest of the system.
Our machines make notches where the logs joins, and then
each one is numbered. Because the logs are cut to exact
lengths and notching and numbering is done at the
factory, installation is much simpler than with other
log homes. Guesswork and extra labor at the building
sites are eliminated. |
